The truth of the matter is that Neldir is a completely insignificant guy as far as the outside world knows, so it's unlikely that many people are aware of him. The vampire thing does continue and develop, but Neldir's pretty much beneath Siorighan's notice.

The other reason I don't want it to be too easy to find him is the map; I've got 60x80 hexes, so the father they have to chase him, the more they'll get to see.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoting the campaign.Alea iactanda esthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17951704235056042923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714327904580798843.post-24019631297776035532014-03-17T07:08:56.370+00:002014-03-17T07:08:56.370+00:00Although you have played way past this session, I&...Although you have played way past this session, I'd like to make a comment.
Sorry, this is a long rant (but I do love this LotFP solo campaign)...

I can't help think that you're playing this quest like a videogame. Your main goal was to find Neldir and the book, but you keep getting involved in subquests of subquests that could have been solved more directly.

You could've inquired about Neldir both at the Church and at Castle Vyljusz from at least three helpful npcs. Instead you now have to find the thieves, bring enough SP to the magician, travel back to the vampire's last known location, find out what happened to her, give the crown to her (if found or "alive"), and then get the info about Neldir (which could be insignificant).

The merchant, the Major-domo, and especially Siorighan (at least 3 chances--one of them would most likely rolled favorably to have the necessary info--and may have provided the info for less than the vampire). In fact, maybe even the group of knights could've provided the info, but you never inquired about it.

Sorry if this is too much of a rant, but I do really like your solo session reports. I just felt you got stuck in videogame rpg mode in which you were forced to complete fetch quests in order to move the plot.

I can't wait to find out what actually happened though, this is one of the best solo session reports I have read in a while. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01614965085697431505noreply@blogger.com
