We had a couple hours to kill in Bloomsbury t'other day, so we decided to pop into the Petrie Museum, having not been there for a while.
I've got a better phone camera than last time I was there, so took lots of pictures of the Egyptian & Greek inscriptions, and as many of my favourite artefacts as I could fine.
More germane to the substance of this blog, I also took lots of pictures of jewellery and smaller items that would make good inspiration for treasures, especially for Runequest, like I often do on a museum visit.
A handful of the cases had little cards with floorplans of the tombs and temples where objects were unearthed. My camera is now good enough to get pictures of these... also for Runequest.
Personal best. Definitely, a personal best.
ReplyDeleteNext step is to see if I can consult the dig reports in their reading room...
DeleteDig reports? Okay, now I'm OFFICIALLY jealous.
DeleteIs that ... a secret room? In the centre of the large SW area? There’s no entrance!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly will be when my PCs get there!
DeleteI think in reality it's just where only foundations or the outline of a room remains, and the original doorway was slightly above the level of the extant stone.
Trip hazard!
